In an ending is a beginning and in a beginning is an ending. Great Mother is both ends of the spectrum, as she holds you in the liminal space in-between.
She holds the death and the life simultaneously - just like menstruation. In the shedding of blood is both a release and an offering of nutrient rich life, all at once.
Great Mother embraces, nourishes, and holds the space for you to sustain. She is the foundation, the root, the Earth. She is the grounding pad for everything to launch from. When you feel truly supported, it’s easier to excel and rise.
Her affirmation is I surrender, I receive. The more that you can truly let go, trust, and soften - the more space you have to actually open up to the blessings that life has to bestow.

You're invited this lunar cycle to consciously begin a new cycle. And this type of beginning is gentle, slow, and easeful. She asks you to soften and surrender, so that you can receive the seeds that want to be planted in the fertile soil within you to begin anew.

So here we stand, at this turn in the Wheel of the Year. It's the 1st lunar cycle of 2022 from January 2nd - January 30th.
After passing through the Queen of Death Moon, where you were invited to consciously complete - NOW, with Great Mother, you're asked to start fresh with the fertile soil that had been generated from the compost of all that has come before.
The societal narrative in the new year is all about setting new goals, new intentions, and new resolutions. Yes that's helpful, AND - Great Mother's invitation is for you to RECEIVE your new resolutions. She asks you to gestate, germinate, and to let them arise from a well spring of wisdom within you.
Can you feel the difference between setting and receiving?
Receiving becomes a gift from the divinity within you and around you. This lets the process be about your becoming as you follow the map of your soul's curriculum.
So can you soften up to receive the becoming that is waiting for you? And consciously plant that seed now, so that it can be tended to all year long?
SO LET'S TALK SUPER NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN, because that's the foundational energy for the mood of this lunar cycle.
The New Moon was exact at 11:33 am MST on January 2nd. It's not every year that the cycles align in this way -
the start of a lunar cycle in the sign of Capricorn that's all about achieving results the day after the Gregorian New Year that's all about setting new year's resolutions.
This laid the foundation at the start of the year to have the gusto on board to show up for your goals. Capricorn is all about results. Capricorn knows what structures, routines, and dedication needs to be present to see something through to the end.
In numerology, this is a 6 year - a year of growth and love. After building, building, building last year, this year asks for expansion. So let this expansion come from love, from the heart, from a place of exquisite care for both yourself and the collective. Call upon your Goddess of Love allies to hold the kind of space that allows for your creations and offerings to fully blossom and thrive.

The Full Moon is exact at 4:48 pm MST on January 17th. Because Cancer feels it all, she knows how to nurture, sustain, and care for it all too.
So as the Moon reflects the Sun in fullness, things may feel tender. The moon is making a lot of challenging aspects to other planets on the 17th and 18th. In fact, she is opposing Pluto, Mercury, and Saturn and making a square with Uranus.
The Sun shines it’s light through Capricorn, the sign that wants to build a legacy through hard-work and grit. And with the Moon in direct opposition to the Sun, the underbelly of the crab may be feeling allllll of those tender places where you haven’t achieved in your life.
So the invitation is to hold emotional integrity as the sun brings all those tender feels to light. When it comes to what you so desperately want to achieve, you may be feeling the inner wounds that sabotage you, the systems that restrict you, and ruminate on those stories that put you down.
Allow yourself to feel it all and become unattached to the feeling. Remember, you are not the emotion. The emotion is flowing through you. Great Mother is here to hold the safe space for you to flow through the emotional spectrum.
All in all - Great Mother wants to help you RECEIVE.
In a society that tells you to go, go, go - it feels and sounds counter-productive to rest. And that’s EXACTLY what Great Mother asks of you.
Instead of trailblazing through the pain and taking action to avoid. Let yourself be aware when your action is driven by passion and pleasure and when it’s driven by your need to avoid feeling the void within you.
True accomplishment and production comes from a place that feels surrendered, nourished, and well-cared for. This means that the more calm your nervous system feels as you work on your goals, the more sustainable your actions are. And this helps to build something that lasts. TIPS TO HELP WITH THIS:

- GREAT MOTHER TIP #2: Remember your ground. You have stability within you. Embrace it. Let it be your foundation. Let it carry you through the tides of life, so that when life pulls you from centre, you ebb and flow with it and not against it.
